Meet the Team
Team Manager: Tina Ricketts Smith (Devon)

Tina led the team in Egypt, attending her second World Cup as Coach. As a McTimoney Chiropractor by profession, Tina is also able to be team therapist along with her Chef d'Equipe, Sally Deane who is a qualified acupuncturist.

Tina said: 'It's a great honour to be the only female manager from the 11 nationals competing, and to have the only female riders so we have a lot to achieve.'

Chef D'Equipe: Sally Deane (East Sussex)
Sally changed careers from banking to oriental medicine and acupunture in 2007 and now works as an acupunturist in three clinics. After competing in show jumping, eventing and dressage, Sally now concentrates on the latter with her mare Millie but hasn't been persuaded to try tentpegging yet!

Sally says: 'It would have been nice to come home with a medal but to just hold our own against the world's top tentpegging nations is a great achievement in itself.'

Riders:

Michael Smith (Devon)
Michael made the move from dressage to tentpegging some years ago. He has attended and/or represented GB at ten international events since 2009.

Michael's best international individual finish was in India 2015 finishing joint first in the rings and peg, dropping to the silver medal result only after a run off. He was a member of the gold medal winning team in the Indian File at the same event. Michael was a member of the ITPF World Cup qualifying team in Cape Town last August, South Africa earning 159 points towards the team score.

Jenna Copley (Gloucestershire)
One of only two female riders taking part in the finals, Jenna is a Financial Director and also particpates in Battle Proms events with her horses. A former polocrosse rider and showjumper, Jenna was a member of the team which qualified in South Africa last year. She has competed for GB overseas in India, Pakistan and Oman. Jenna's current main tentpegging horses are a beautiful young dun quarterhorse mare called Cookie, ex-polo pony Connie and her former racehorse, simply named Black Horse.

Adrian Deane (East Sussex)
Adrian runs his own equine transport business Horseferry Transport and competes in the UK on his eye catching coloured horse Tommy whose in-foal mother was rescued before he was born. Adrian has represented GB in the UK against teams from Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway as well as in Sudan, Oman, Pakistan and South Africa.

A former show jumper and team chaser, Adrian started tentpegging when friends introduced him to the sport on their former Pre St George dressage mare Nikita in 2012, who carried him to third place tentpegging at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2013.

Peter Turland (Yorkshire)
The oldest member of the team, but an inspiration to anyone who has always yearned to ride, Peter first learned to ride in his 20s. Three decades on, he now owns Paddy and Jupiter and is a former Master of Foxhounds. Pete has competed for GB overseas in Sudan, Pakistan and South Africa.

Jem Pearce (Northamptonshire)
Jem made the switch to tentpegging in 2013 after competing in mounted games for 20 years. Mounted games developed from the original cavalry training and tentpegging skills. Jem competed in the World Individual and World Pairs championships several times and worked as a wrangler on a ranch in the US during her student years.
Jem works in online marketing for a global holiday company and competes in the UK on her appaloosa Pepsi. She rode for GB in 2013 against Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway, winning individual silver and bronze medals as well as team silver. This was her her first overseas trip representing GB
.
